Originally from the Quezon Province, she says - at times - she regrets moving to Metro Manila.

"But my elder sister needed help (running her photography studio), so I had to come over," she said, adding that as the seventh of nine children, "it's not like I had a lot of choices."

The city, she said, is noisy; and everyone is always on the move. "You wake up in the morning, and you haven't even winked yet, but the day's almost over. Here, people don't rest..."

At the end of the day, though, "masasanay ka rin (you'll get used to it, too). It's not like you have a choice..."


Michael David dela Cruz Tan - The founder of Outrage Magazine, Mick is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) of the University of Newcastle in New South Wales Australia (just don’t ask when, he says).
